Winch Ropes
RED Winches winch ropes are made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), making them 8x lighter than steel wire with low stretch and zero water shrinkage; giving you a cost effective, high performance synthetic winch rope solution. Our winch ropes are configured with a spliced loop, stainless steel thimble and a red competition hook at one end with a plain cut at the other end of the rope.
RED Winches offer a range of ‘standard’ rope lengths calculated to give the optimum rope capacity for each of our Electric Winches & Hydraulic Winches while maintaining free drum space to help avoid bunching. When choosing a winch rope, RED Winches advise choosing a rope with a minimum breaking strain of at least twice the maximum rated pulling capacity of your winch.

Which RED Winches rope do I need?
Wildtrackers winch ropes
Wildtrackers winch ropes are also offered for users requiring a higher minimum breaking strain (MBS) for equivalent rope diameters allowing the user a greater length of rope on the winch drum while maintaining suitable minimum breaking strain.
Wildtrackers were Founded by Camel Trophy veteran Andrew Dacey and have been pioneering the use of synthetic ropes in vehicle recovery since synthetic ropes were first available and were the first to create the soft shackles that are common place today. Ropes are selected from various premium rope manufacturers to give the best balance of class leading MBS and value.
Plasma Lock Rope Retention
All our winches are now supplied with Plasma Locks to hold synthetic rope onto the drum, it is proven and a very reliable system for holding your rope on the drum.
They are a nice simple solution to ensure you always have the minimum amount of line wraps on your winch drum.
