After a strategic hiatus to recharge and reinvent, The Stampede returns from July 10th–12th, 2026. We didn’t just take a break; we built a bigger, tougher, and more exhilarating experience for our community. This year, we aren't just crossing finish lines - we’re breaking records.
THE Stampede 2026
We are very pleased to announce details of this year’s RED Winch Challenge Off-Road Event, the 2026 ‘Stampede’.
We have worked closely with a fantastic landowner for the last 4 years, which some of you may know, shares our love and passion for off-road events and all things motorsport. Chris Lerwill is kindly allowing the event to take place on his land once again, and what a fantastic site it is on the edge of Exmoor.
The Stampede event is in North Devon near Combe Martin, on the edge of Exmoor, overlooking the coastline and Bristol Channel and beyond into Wales… not a bad spot at all. And a fantastic off-road site to keep all of you, at all levels, challenged for the whole weekend.
The object of the event is for a single vehicle (Driver & Co-Driver) to locate various punches/discs around a long, single-direction lap-style course. It will have 100+ punches laid out all along the route. You need to drive and reach the punches with your truck. The punches are at varying levels of difficulty, some easy, some very technical. This is how we have always set out our events, and the feedback has always been positive.

09:00 Day 1 Event start – Stampede Start
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch Period (Food Bags will be issued to Marshals)
18:30 Day 1 finish for the course
18:00-19:30 Evening Food Available for Drivers & Co-Drivers or those with Food Tickets
19:30 Evening Food Available for All, or second helpings

Food & Drink
We are delighted to have our RED Winch team of girls and boys once again supporting and providing the food for the event this year. We have Hidden Pizza with a wonderful selection of food for the entire weekend for the supporters and spectators. Food, drink and snacks will be available to all this year, next to the course HQ, to purchase during the event. As always we will be including meals for Friday and saturday for competitors and marshalls.
Joining us for the weekend are the following:
Camping
Camping will be in a grass field at the top of the site with easy access from the road.
4x4 Vehicles, trailers and lorries are all welcome. Stunning views, so arrive early to get the best camping spots.
The area is designated for Marshals, competitors, family and friends combined.
Toilets will be situated in the pits/camping area. There is no drinking water available on site other than purchasing from HQ. But 2 miles away in Combe Martin (EX34 0JE) is a Co-Op Shop, should you fancy stocking up or something a bit different.
All rubbish must be bagged and binned – absolutely no mess is to be left behind.
For those of you who would rather retire to a hotel/lodge for the evening rather than a tent or camper van, there are several options around in the area use Airbnb or Booking.com
