XL Drum:
The XL drum can hold 78m of 11mm plasma or synthetic rope.
The XL drum can hold 67m of 12mm plasma or synthetic rope.
The XL drum can hold 50m of 14mm plasma or synthetic rope.
Due to the violent power delivery of the Hornet2 Quad motor, we recommend using 14mm rope as a minimum.

Electrical System Requirements
To maximise performance, the Hornet2 requires:
- Minimum 200A alternator (12V) or 110A alternator (24V)
- FOUR Odyssey PC1750 or equivalent batteries
- At least TWO 70mm² high-quality positive cable
- At least TWO 70mm² high-quality negative cable (DO NOT ground to the chassis)
- Clean electrical joints with conductive grease in water-prone areas

The gearbox has been specifically designed for strength, power, and ease of service. All gears are manufactured from 655-M13 nickel chromium-molybdenum steel and case hardened to give maximum strength (1100 N/mm²) and excellent durability. Straight cut gears provide strength where its most needed.
The end cover is sealed via an O-ring and groove, ensuring a watertight seal. Once the cover is removed access to all gears is possible and only takes 5 mins to service / inspect all gears and re-assemble. The gearbox runs in grease, not oil making it much easier to service in the field.
High-Speed, High-Power Performance
- Standard Speeds: 72 metres per minute (236 feet per minute).
- Overdrive Gear Set: 82 metres per minute (268 feet per minute)
- Drum RPM: Standard gears 230 RPM, Overdrive Gears 254 RPM
- Overvolting Option: Allows 24V operation on 12V motors for extreme power and speed (use with caution)
