Hornet1 middle gear

This upgraded middle gear assembly for the Hornet 1 (H1) replaces the original gear assembly shipped with the H1 units.

The smaller gear is one of the final drive gears and, as such, is under the most pressure from all the gears in the H1 gearbox. This smaller gear is made from 300M and welded to the larger gear, stress relieved, then heat-treated.

This gear, under certain high-load conditions, can suffer damage; therefore, this upgraded gear was designed to enhance the design and reduce the risk of damage.

You can identify this gear assembly from a small letter ‘M’ that will have been stamped into the side of the larger gear.
