Back with a bang
When the Stampede took a year out wasn't it a long year? No sunny escape to the hills of Devon filled with extreme competition, mud, laughter and fun.
Couldn't make it well don't miss out on the action, here is a roundup of the weekend.
Early start: Making the most of the sunshine.
Setup day does not normally step into action until lunchtime but there were a few early campers making the most of the sunshine, boy it was a hot one!
The field was set up and so was the track, we were ready for a great weekend with great competitiors and marshals. We can't put events on without you!
This year we invited Hidden Pizza to provide the food on the Saturday night and also add a little something different... A bar. This was very well received.

Game Changer: Punch Scanners
This year we wanted to up our game, the last Stampede we used cameras to record the competitors puches (we had a few questionable images!). This took a considerable amount of time recording the results at HQ and also the cameras had to be charged.
We put our heads together (highly skilled folk here at RED Winches) we souched a scanner and electronic punches that the competitor could scan and the results be downloaded simply by pluging in at HQ. The feedback recived from the event staff at HQ, marshals and competitors was very positive. Which has led to the decision that we will be hiring the system out to other events. (More information will be released soon).
