Secure Your Line: The Plasma Lock Rope Retention System
The Plasma Lock is the ultimate solution for safely securing synthetic winch ropes to your winch drum. Designed for high-performance and competition use, it provides a mechanical “lock” that prevents the rope from slipping or pulling off the drum under load.
Unlike traditional small terminal lugs that can shear or fail, the Plasma Lock uses a clever design to ensure the rope stays exactly where it should be. It is a vital safety component for any serious off-road recovery setup.

All our winches are supplied with Plasma Locks to hold synthetic rope onto the drum. It is proven and a very reliable system for holding your rope on the drum, but can be used on any brand of winch.
Standard rope attachments are often the weakest link in a recovery system. The Plasma Lock ensures that even when you are down to the last few wraps on your drum, your rope remains securely anchored, giving you total peace of mind during vertical pulls or deep-mud extractions.
The Plasma Lock is a simple solution to ensure you always have the minimum amount of line wraps on your winch drum. With the Plasma Lock installed, you can pull your line to your anchor point with confidence that it won’t leave you without any line on the drum!
There are four size options designed to work with different line diameters to deliver optimal performance. Please select the diameter of the line you are using to get the Plasma Lock that is right for your application.
The Plasma Lock Mini is ideal for short drum winches where drum width is limited, such as the INEOS Grenadier winch and still enables 6 wraps of rope with an 11mm line.
Please note: After initial installation, it is important to power the rope onto the drum under tension to ensure the rope capstans onto the drum to prevent slippage. If using on a winch drum with a very smooth surface, adding a wrap or “grip tape” under the area that the Plasmalock will sit will help the rope set on the drum.
